General information:

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology training program aims to produce competent consultants who are able to take appropriate decision in all areas of pediatric hematology/oncology and to conduct clinical research. The Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is also operating King Fahed National Centre for Children's Cancer, a 46-bed capacity pediatric oncology center. A major strength of the program is a wide variety of clinical Problems available for study. The department consists of outpatient hematology, stem cell transplantation and oncology clinics, walk-in treatment area units, hematology/oncology wards at both King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (General Organization) and King Fahed National Centre for Children's Cancer, and stem cell transplantation unit.

Routine, special and coagulation laboratories, a blood bank and research center laboratories are also available for the trainee. The PHO training program provides two years of clinical training with a third year for research.
